BEATZ AND LYRICS VOL. 2

So my husband Amond Jackson cordinated this project with Jayforce of the Beatz and Lyrics Show on WRFG 89.3 FM, and Ree Swa of Lens of Life Photography in conjunction with a HOST of dope artists from the Atlanta independent hip hop scene such as staHHr, Rasheedah Ali, Binkis Recs, Senor Kaos, Mikeflo, Ekundayo, Isreal and so much more, it would take me all day to name the dopeness on this project. You really need to go cop for yourself. I must admit- the final project was most def work the sacrifice. AJ stayed up day and night along with Ree and Force to make sure the dopeness came together in what you are now able to download from www.salempsalmslibrary.com. Soooooooo...... now presenting: BEATZ AND LYRICS TO GO. The concept with a photo flip book, individual cover art, a contest to win prizes for listening and supporting, and film- yoooo.....this is CRAY! Cop that now!!!!!!

Jackson's partnership with WRFG-FM's "Beatz & Lyrics Show" host Jayforce has produced two previous mixtape projects. The latest edition was recorded at Salem Psalms Library and in the Unique Squared Mobile Studio onsite at A3C, where artists were given 30 minutes to lay down verses after selecting beats to flow over. The end result includes dirty, clean, instrumental, and acapella versions of all 22 songs, plus cover artwork for each single.

AJ and I took a much needed unplug from city life and the everyday hustle nd bustle- so we along with my friend- songstress Poodie the Byz and her boo Eluzhen Alexander , where we linked up with another dynamic duo Sha'Kmt Divine Heru and Born Divine.... where we enjoyed solitude, oneness with our mates and togetherness as friends, enjoying life. It was definite bless....so dope- beyond words really. Cant wait for the next excursion. Taken 1/29/12

I have been corresponding with Sundiata Acoli for about three years now. He has always been very lighthearted, inspirational and positive, always asking me what he can do for me. When he heard that I was again having a cancer related procedure, he was very concerned- writing me several times, checking on my process and my well being. He is so much more that a person I write, he is a friend, like a father- an incredibly beautiful human being that I pray for on a regular basis.

Anyhow, for those of you who don't know, the government has transferred Baba Sundiata from Otisville, NY to Cumberland, MD- which is further waya from his loved ones. ACTION ALERT- FTP Political Education Class 1/19/12

Join us for The Organization 101: Political Education Series! Each solution-based session will focus on advancing the Political Education of not only organizers, but also the masses of the people. There will be guest facilitators dealing with an array of topics pertaining to community organizing. The classes will address everything from coalition building to knowing your rights. Classes are free and open to the public.

THIS WEEK'S TOPIC: "All Politics Are Local"

The "People's Representative" Able Mable Thomas will be the guest facilitator.

Able Mable Thomas, who has served as both a State Representative in Georgia as well as City Council in Atlanta will discuss the criminal activities of the police in her community (The Bluffs) including the murders of 92 year old Kathryn Johnston and 19 year old Joetavius Stafford. She will also discuss current efforts to re-build the Atlanta community at large.

THE MISSION OF THE M.O.B.B.
The mission of Mothers of Black/ Brown Babies is to support new and veteran mothers of Black and Brown children in a variety of ways that nourish their mind thorough bringing educational workshops and forums to their communities, spirit through networking and camaraderie as well as the overall health of their families through emotional support. M.O.B.B. was established to educate and support, as well as to create a network of support for pregnant and new mothers. M.O.B.B. IS COMMUNITY MINDED, CENTERED, FOCUSED AND OPERATED

HOW WE M.O.B.B.

"STEADY M.O.B.B.in'"
This program strives to bring the education to the people in their communities. Conference and meeting locations vary from community centers, religious institutions, shelters, halfway houses and public parks. One-topic workshops are held upon request.

EAT HEALTHY
M.O.B.B.'s emergency food program Eat Healthy is for families who have been denied government assistance or have been discontinued from those benefits because of slight increase in income. M.O.B.B. celebrates any type of elevation, and we believe that because one has made progress in one area that they should not be hindered in others. This program is for the families who fall in between- the family that is not economically abundant, but not economically destitute. It is understood that there are few to no programs out there for this type of family. Eat Healthy provides food packages consisting of wholistic products, and on some occasion will include additional items such as new recipes, hygiene products and vitamins.

MOBILE CLOTHES CLOSET
In conjunction with the FTP Movement's Feed The People Program, the Mobile Clothes Closet operates every Sunday. Additional days are scheduled through community outreach in accordance with the current need. This program is designed for those without the funds or transportation to access the various stationary clothes closets throughout the metropolitan area. Individuals in need are able to access new and used clothing for themselves and their family as well as personal hygiene kits.

M.O.B.B. HERSTORY

In 2002, taj anwar, while still a graduate student at Georgia State University, working full time and a mother of two went to apply for financial assistance from a governmental agency. When asked of she was in school, anwar proudly told her caseworker that she was in school and what she was studying. After a 2-hour waiting period and 2 ½ hour interview process, anwar was denied assistance and told that in order for her to qualify for assistance; she would need to quit school. Angered, anwar left the office and vowed to make a change upon graduating from college. She defended her Master’s degree thesis on Mother’s of Black/Brown Babies, and non- profit she hoped to start shortly after graduating.

M.O.B.B. is named after one of anwar’s favorite songs, “Steady Mobbin’” by Da Lench Mob. In the hip-hop community, that phrase means to keep it moving, no matter the circumstance. The acronym became functional term she used while working in the community and encouraging others.

In 2004, anwar put M.O.B.B. into practice. She began going to various public housing projects giving out food and hygiene care packages to families in need. She assembled these packages at home and hand delivered them in her truck. When talking with the people, she recognized that the same conditions that she worked hard to pull herself out of are still existent. Recalling her experience with dealing with governmental benefits, she could identify with their stories as well. She used her experience and learning to write People within the local hip- hop community became aware of the work she was doing and offered resources.

In 2006, M.O.B.B. became a movement in which anwar wrote and developed various programs to strengthen parenting amongst mothers. People could identify with her story and wanted to join M.O.B.B. in its efforts, thus propelling M.O.B.B. to national and international recognition. Now with a team, anwar continues to M.O.B.B. through the city with the hopes of expanding on a national and international level in the future.

1. NO SNITCHING The Police, Capitalism, the State, etc. are an enemy to the people and to work with them is criminal, Ancestral Treason! Loose lips sink ships, snitching is unforgivable.

2. NO RAPE To Rape is a violation of a person’s physical, mental and spirit. It is Barbaric and anti-African. Rapist should be dealt with.

3. BANG FOR UHURU (FREEDOM) Warriors can only be initiated by an enemy. If you are going to bang; bang on the system, not on other Africans.

4. NO EXPLOITATION Don't exploit your people. You live in the hood, they live in the hood and chances are they don't have anything more than you do. We have enough community leaches and pork chop preachers robbing the people.

5. WARRIOR CODE Security first! Protect Women, Children & Elders. Train; work out, get your fighting skills up to par. Police your own community. We don't need pigs overseeing us.

6. NO FALSE FLAGGIN' Red, white, and blue ain't never did shit for you. Don't be a star-spangled slave. Get on the right team; rally round the flag on some Red, Black and Green.

7. DISCIPLINE Get your mind right, focus and organize your life. Be committed.

8. BUILD SURVIVAL PROGRAMS The People come first. You are your Brother/Sisters keeper. Capitalism teaches individualism, which is anti-African. We have to create programs that are for the best interest of the people (especially Food, Clothing and Shelter).

9. P.E. (POLITICAL EDUCATION) EACH 1, TEACH 1! It is important for African People to have knowledge of self. We have to be able to articulate why we are in the conditions we are in, who put us in these conditions and how can we get out of these conditions.10. YOUR WORD IS BOND (DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR) Warriors are only as good as their words. Make your word your bond!
